The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
In the most enchanting setting, The Woods at Oakley played host to a magnificent three-day wedding celebration with a festival-style flair. The venue boasted a plethora of trees and secluded corners adorned with the magical glow of fairy lights, charming bunting, whimsical tree swings, enchanting fairy doors, and so much more. The ambiance was truly spellbinding.
Despite the unpredictable weather that brought frequent rain throughout the weekend, it failed to cast a shadow on this extraordinary occasion. The heart of the festivities unfolded beneath a grand circus-style tent, housing rustic barn tables and a spacious dance floor complete with a DJ booth.
In this delightful two-day wedding celebration, day one was primarily dedicated to the heartwarming camaraderie of friends and family who came together to prepare for the grand event. On Friday, my role was to nourish the hardworking team with a scrumptious BBQ feast, which, staying true to the vegan ethos, offered a wide array of options beyond the traditional sausages and burgers. In addition to those classics, we served colourful vegetable skewers, a diverse selection of salads, and an assortment of freshly baked bread. The food was not only a hit but also provided the much-needed energy to gear up for the big day ahead.
On the grand day itself, my dedicated team and I rose at the break of dawn to craft a delightful breakfast buffet for the staying guests. Featuring an array of delectable treats, including cinnamon knots, croissants, pancakes, and fresh fruit, the table was a sight to behold, leaving everyone pleasantly surprised by the delightful morning spread. Alongside the mouthwatering fare, we added a touch of ambiance with flickering candles and the melodious tunes of Bob Marley playing softly in the background. It was truly a delightful way to start the day.
As the day unfolded, a beautiful ceremony took place in a separate tent, accompanied by heartfelt speeches and a sumptuous lunch courtesy of 'The Hogless Roast' Our moment to shine arrived in the evening when we introduced an extraordinary bagel bar, complete with an impressive array of toppings to suit every taste. Additionally, a dessert table boasted an extensive variety of cakes, muffins, sweets, and fruits. Hunger seemed to be the theme of the hour as the queue for these delicious offerings stretched to approximately 50 people! Not a morsel went to waste; it was simply perfect. We even made sure that guests still present on Sunday morning enjoyed sausage butties. It's safe to say that my team and I put in a tremendous effort to make this event a resounding success!
