Styled Shoot at Maisemore Lakes, Gloucestershire

With guidelines constantly changing in regards to Covid and weddings we wanted to celebrate all things love and demonstrate that an intimate wedding can be just as special and show-stopping as the larger weddings we have all become accustomed to. 

This beautiful styled shoot was set at a lakeside location at Maisemore Court Lakes. We chose to show an outdoor ceremony with a beautiful floating arbor to frame the event set with boho nods including lanterns and a rug to give the feeling of bringing the inside outdoors and to help give the feeling of intimacy to the setting. With a smaller number of guests this formed an important part of the ceremony. 

A single tipi from Fireflower Tipis was used to host the reception. This was big enough to hold a wonderful long banquet table set with a large focal table centre and small bud vases to follow the line of the table and allow for everyone to see and talk with each other. 

For later in the day a bar area was set up with informal hay bales to act as seats and rugs again to keep things intimate and cosy. 

We wanted to respect the nature and beauty of the setting and so complemented the setting as much as possible using soft colours in the flowers and accessories with a boho inspired theme. 

The flowers were kept in a natural free-flowing style using lots of seasonal British Grown Blooms and beautiful pampas grass to add texture. No floral foams were used which allowed for a natural looking tear drop bouquet style and a free-flowing arbour which blended beautifully into the surroundings. Complementing flowers were fed through to the cake to tie the whole look together. 

The canvas of the tipi looked perfect against the backdrop of the outdoor location and gave a real relaxed but beautiful vibe. To add interest to the tipi we decorated vintage style birdcages with flowers and strung these from the top of the tipi adding a beautiful focal point to the tipi. 

A delicious grazing table was used to feed the guests. This gave the feeling of being less formal than a traditional sit down meal but visually looked stunning and provides a real talking point. 

Even at intimate weddings bridesmaids and special best men form a big part of the guest list. Here our furry best man looked stunning in his floral dog collar while the beautiful flower girl wore a matching flower crown and carried a stunning hand-tied bouquet full of fragrant seasonal blooms. 

Intimate weddings give such a wonderful opportunity to allow your very nearest and dearest to have a special part in your big day making it a day to remember. With careful planning, decoration and your favourites on your guest list, what is there not to love about these beautiful intimate affairs!
