I'm very creative and one of the things I loved most about my own wedding was doing the designing and styling, so organising a styled shoot was something I was always interested in. I wanted the shoot to take place in a cool urban space as it is something different to what I have done in the past – lots of outdoor shoots working with natural light, which I feel works well with my light and airy style.
I wanted to create a luxe urban fairy-tale, with a rich colour palette and glamorous accents, as well as a sense of fun, whimsy, and romance. The colours I based it around were on-trend rose gold, cream, striking burgundy, and lots of accents of greenery.
When I came across First Option Location Studio in trendy Shoreditch, I knew I had found the right venue. I was inspired by the location itself significantly, with the warm bricks and wood, and the metal accents such as the spiral staircase. The venue had so many cool quirks which I thought would work well in photographs, and I knew they would marry (no pun intended!) with some gorgeous images I had seen on Pinterest.
When I put a call out for suppliers to get involved I was amazed by the response. I chose people who I felt really understood the brief, and were as passionate about producing a high quality shoot as I was, as well as friendly and easy to work with! On the day, we all worked together so well, and it was incredibly enjoyable, and I loved getting to know everyone!
I really loved putting together the shoot, and the creative process involved. I I wanted to put together a high quality shoot, get to know some fantastic suppliers, and produce some great photos. I do feel I accomplished this, and it was a very enjoyable and rewarding process. I can’t wait to organise another one!
