The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
We were approached by Teresa of Fig Leaf Florist, she was busy organizing a styled engagement shoot and wanted to reach out to local suppliers. Teresa is based in South Cerney and little did we know we lived just down the road from her, in fact the cake maker and beautician live in the same village too! We have done many a wedding styled shoot never a styled engagement shoot so we were excited to be involved when asked.
"I was wanting to do a shoot in UK, as I had done them in NZ. They were always a positive thing to do and I love to meet others in the industry. The engagement shoot idea was to do something different from weddings." Teresa, Fig Leaf Florist
The venue of choice was Barnsley House near Cirencester and wow the gardens made for a beautiful backdrop for the photos.
"As it’s spring I was wanting vibrant rich colours to match the spring bulbs at Barnsley House. A floral theme in the spring season. The flowers I used were tulips & cytisus picked from my garden. Orange geums, purple lilac, peach avalanche rose, alstroemerias as transition flowers with lots of different contrasting foliage's. Pussywillow to add some texture. I knew the Temple garden at Barnsley House would be a perfect venue for what I visualized." Teresa, Fig Leaf Florist
Charlotte and Jeremy were a great couple to work with, newly engaged so it was perfect. They also brought along their gorgeous dog 'Radley'. Charlotte wore a bespoke outfit by Amy Cook Bespoke Fashion, Nails beautifully painted by Kay of Little Beauty Room and earthy tones with a touch of gold was the colour choice for make up, applied by Make Up by Carissa.
"Charlotte and Jeremy jumped at the chance to be involved. Amy’s brief was romantic, young and fun. She came up trumps with her floral jumpsuit. I really enjoyed setting up the Temple Garden, being creative again was just the best" Teresa, Fig Leaf Florist
During the shoot the couple enjoyed yummy cake by Holly at Project Cakery, the cake looked gorgeous and suited the theme perfectly. Charlotte was even treated to a beautiful bouquet of flowers too.
The photoshoot was great fun. We photograph lots of pre-wedding/engagement shoots and i think having a theme or planning for afternoon tea or picnic could be great fun and a great way to celebrate your engagement.
