Upon meeting Sam & Mark, it was evident that their wedding day held a unique significance. The profound love they share made me feel privileged to be part of this exceptional occasion. Our journey began nearly a year prior to their wedding day, encompassing twelve months of collaborative planning, menu development, fine-tuning, delightful tastings and culminating in the beautiful celebration we witnessed.
The venue was truly magnificent, nestled at the bride's family home in Oxfordshire. It featured an expansive marquee, grand barn tables accommodated 40 guests on each side, with a special head table reserved for the bride, groom and their nearest and dearest. Adorned with charming wild flower-filled vases and elegant hanging vines overhead, the setting was completed by a rustic wooden bar, a stage and a dance floor. The picturesque scene was a sight to behold.
Our bespoke menu featured an array of plant-based canapés that were handed out during the champagne reception. This was followed by an elegant sit-down meal, featuring Mediterranean-inspired sharing platters, an assortment of refreshing salads and freshly baked bread. The meal concluded with a shared dessert platter. For the utmost convenience, a dedicated catering tent was set up adjacent to the main marquee, ensuring seamless food preparation and service.
Upon the guests' arrival, a beautiful ceremony unfolded in the main garden, adorned with an altar, guest chairs and an abundance of vibrant flowers. While the ceremony was in full swing, my team and I prepared the canapés and champagne, ready to be served once the ceremony concluded. These delightful treats and bubbly libations were enjoyed for a couple of hours as guests mingled and photographers captured the moments.
As the guests arrived, they were greeted by elegantly arranged salad bowls and baskets filled with freshly baked bread. Once all the guests were comfortably seated, our team seamlessly transitioned into serving the delightful sharing platters, followed by the delectable dessert platters. After the wedding party had enjoyed their meals, it was time for the heartwarming speeches. I was pleasantly surprised and deeply moved when the groom took a moment in his speech to get me up on stage and express his gratitude to me, it truly brightened my day.
The evening continued with the commencement of the festivities. Guests danced, shared laughter, and enjoyed the ambiance. As the night fell, we treated everyone to Gyros-style kebabs and potato wedges. Needless to say, the guests were well-fed and ready for a night filled with dancing and celebration.
