Sam & Lisa at The Barn at Upcote nr Cheltenham

Sam and Lisa were married on a drizzly spring day, Sunday 15th March 2020 at The Barn at Upcote.

We first met Lisa at a wedding fair, she was looking around with her mum and bridesmaids. We had a good chat about the wedding day plans, looked through wedding albums and spoke all about what a lovely day she will have. A few days later we met with both Lisa and Sam for a coffee and we were booked!

Lisa and Sam booked a pre-wedding shoot with us a few months before their big day, Lisa had a few worries about being in front of the camera and wanted to put these worries a side. The pre-wedding shoot took place in Cirencester, we went for a walk and chatted in between photos. We could see Lisa felt uncomfortable at the start of the shoot but as the photo shoot progressed you could see Lisa become more at ease...and after they received the photos Lisa felt much more confident about the wedding day photos!

The wedding took place at The Barn at Upcote, it’s a beautiful barn hidden away down a long drive and is set within rolling fields of the Cotswold countryside nr Cheltenham. The venue is a favorite of ours as the photo opportunities are wonderful each and every season. 

We met with Lisa, her Mum and the bridesmaids at The Barn at Upcote for bridal preparations. It was a quiet, calm morning yet emotional especially when the bridesmaids got to see Lisa in her dress for the very first time!

The Groom and Groomsmen were busy greeting the arriving guests. Chatter and laughter filled the air before it was time for the guests to be seated and await the arrival of the Bride.

The Barn looked lovely with fairy lights draping from the ceiling, paper flowers on each and every chair and beautiful flowers on either side of the aisle. With her Dad by her side Lisa walked down the beautiful steps, across the courtyard and finally down the aisle to a teary Sam. The ceremony was lovely it included cuddles, giggles, high 5's and a Haribo ring! Once the official paperwork was signed the newlyweds walked up the aisle as the new Mr & Mrs Westerby with the biggest cheers from friends and family. Just before the drinks reception started guests got to throw confetti over the newlyweds - they were covered!

The drinks reception took place in the barn while a string quartet played, they sounded beautiful. The weather was a little concerning so we went for a walk with Lisa and Sam for their bride and groom portraits, before the family photos in the courtyard.

A yummy three course meal was served for the wedding breakfast and a few informal speeches took place after desert. The evening celebrations started with the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance. Soon everybody was up on the dance floor dancing the night away.

It was such a lovely day, it rained (more on then off!) but these guys just enjoyed every second! The bride, groom and guests were fantastic to work with and we wish Lisa & Sam all the happiness and love for the future.
