Real Wedding: Emma & Luke at Boconnoc House, Cornwall

Roger & Mark are the Wiltshire Toastmasters, and their main objective is to make your wedding day come to life without any stress. They have sent in this lovely wedding....

"The day opened to a glorious sunrise and Boconnoc House & Estate in Cornwall, glowed in golden splendour in the morning light, a perfect day for a wedding. Today was a special day, the day Emma & Luke exchanged vows.

Emma who lives in Cornwall first met Roger at her parent’s home in Oxfordshire, then held further meetings via ‘Facetime’.

The Wiltshire Toastmaster’s, Mark & Roger, arrived early to survey the venue, liaise with venue staff and balance timings with talented Chefs Sarah & Lucy from ‘The Round Kitchen’. After meeting with both sets of parents, they toured the house and grounds with Toby Lowe of Toby Lowe Photography.

Resplendent in their red formal attire and complete with gleaming swords and scabbards, they greeted guests, directed vehicles, assisted other suppliers and kept in constant touch with all key players of the day.

Mark was in position to direct any stray guests on the long approach to the main house and work with venue staff to arrange drinks and canape's on the lawns.

The beautiful ceremony took place in the 800 year old Church, bursting with history and a short walk from the main house. Roger looked after the church whilst Mark attended to the Main House and approach, keeping in touch by short wave radio. A quick radio request from Roger brought Mark quickly to the church with several bottles of water, the bride and groom were in need of refreshment, the weather was hot and the temperature in the church was rising.

A photo shoot was arranged on route to the Main House where two beautifully painted large transport vehicles belonging to the groom were situated, one being his latest company acquisition the other being a replica of a vintage lorry which the Grooms Grandfather had started the company with. This was the couples accolade to his memory and legacy. Mark helped to arrange the photo's with Toby and provided refreshments in the guise of Champagne and a cold pint of Thatchers Gold Cider, the Grooms preferred tipple.

To say the bride and bridal party looked splendid is an understatement and the procession of colour and character from the church to the main house was a delight. Emma & Luke were greeted by an arch of steel of glinting sabres held aloft by both fathers, the best man, grooms man and Roger and Mark.

The day was a dream, a fairy tale; a chalice of mead, a quaich of whisky, romantic family jeweled rings presented by a beaming groom, emotional and entertaining speeches, first class cuisine and the opening of Champagne with a sabre.

The weather, the flowers, the cake, the location and a cacophony of colourful guest and a couple clearly in love …if Aphrodite did weddings!"

The bespoke manner in which Roger & Mark perform their tasks is totally unique, no other Toastmasters go to the lengths they do to provide a totally bespoke service. For this wedding they traveled to Cornwall on the Friday staying local to the venue. At the venue for 9:30am for a 2pm Ceremony and left the venue to drive to Swindon at 10:30pm, arriving back in Swindon at 2am Sunday morning.

"Why do we do what we do - because we love entertaining and creating happy and lasting memories by removing stress and injecting unique touches!"

Mark and Roger received this glowing testimonial from the father of the bride ""If you really want a brand of toast-mastering at your venue that is really unique, then I cannot recommend them enough. We recently had Roger and Mark at our daughter’s wedding down in Cornwall and they were there for Emma and Luke throughout, ensuring their every need was met and really helped make the day run without drama, infusing their expertise, organisational skills and entertainment over all aspects of the wedding day! Thanks both!"
