The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
This lovely Real Wedding has been submitted by Posey Rose, a super talented wedding florist based in Gloucestershire who believes that wedding flowers should reflect a couples style and personality as well as working beautifully to really complement a wedding venue, and it's why their planning and consultation stage forms such an important part of their work with couples and really puts them at the heart of the design.
This is a perfect example of just that - read on for Nick & Victoria's flower story...
Victoria and Nick held their beautiful intimate wedding in February at The Hare and Hounds Hotel set in the beautiful village of Westonbirt, Gloucestershire. They were blessed with the most stunning crisp sunny day for their special day.
They choose natural whimsical style wedding flowers in soft peach, pink, blue and green tones. We incorporated some dried elements with bleached ruscus to add some wintery textures and colours and lots of green eucalyptus.
The bride opted for a large front facing bridal bouquet with lots of shape and movement which really added a wow factor. She finished the look with flowers through her hair.
Breaking from tradition instead of carrying a bridesmaid bouquet the bridesmaid had a large pinned corsage which she pinned to her dress giving her a hands free day. The Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom also had similar pinned corsages to tie in with the bridal party flowers.
The Groomsmen, father of the bride and father of the groom were not left out of the overall floral look. The Groom had a beautiful rose buttonhole drawing the most stunning flowers from the bridal bouquet. The Groomsmen all then had buttonholes of thistles and smaller flowers again bringing out the stunning flowers from the bouquet and bringing the whole look together. The thistles added a beautiful wintery feel and really complemented the blue suits that the men were wearing.
Instead of the traditional large ceremony table arrangement, the couple opted to have a low footed urn set with a wild romantic floral arrangement which complemented the bridal party flowers. This was made using no floral foam which gave the whole arrangement a natural feel. This was then moved later in the day to the card table giving it a multi-purpose use.
The wedding reception was a formal affair with guests seated at round tables finished with traditional white linen and crockery. Decorated throughout with personal touches made by the bride and groom added to the intimate and personal nature of the day. Jam jar flowers of differing heights sat on wooden slices to add simple but effective floral touches and interest to the tables. The dreamy romantic vibe was finished with soft fairy lights.
The couple has a wonderful day all captured beautifully by Lara Jacques.
