How did we meet?
We first met Matt and Megan at our church about 3 years ago and became good friends. We had shot weddings for friends before, but this somehow felt different. We only knew Matt & Megan, and not their extended family which made it feel more like a normal Client photographer situation.
What we love about them.
We don't take on every wedding that we get asked to do, we do this because we want that special connection with our couples. This is because we feel we get better images at their wedding. We loved Matt and Megan's love for imagery and the way they trusted us with some of the decisions.
What made us want to photograph their wedding?
For starters, they are such lovely people and this shows through the images. They had picked a beautiful location in the Tithe barn in Petersfield. A part of the country we had previously been on holiday to. The whole vibe around the wedding was just our kind of scene.
Wedding Day.
The wedding was in July and it was bright and sunny for the whole day, just perfect weather. Myself and Heidi (my wife) both shoot separately at the beginning of the wedding, she goes to the bride's house and gets all the details there, whilst I go to the groom's location and spend the morning with them. We feel this allows us to capture so much more from your wedding, and gives both parties an insight into what the other did on the morning of their wedding.
So we were getting ready at a little Holiday Inn nearby, and as you can imagine it was a little crowded but fun. The men prepared for the day with a hearty full English, and once suits were on and all was ready we headed to the venue, a beautiful location in a modern Tithe Barn in Petersfield. The wedding all took place here so we didn't have to worry about getting lost between venues which was great.
The ceremony was beautiful, the band and pastor from our church had come to lead everything and it was so beautiful to capture. Like with many Christian weddings there were songs and words from the bible.
After the ceremony, we moved to the formal portraits. This can be the most boring part for guests at the wedding, but we believe they are something that you will treasure. We split up for this once again, Heidi captures these shots whilst I mingle with the guests to capture drinks and canapes.
The bride, groom and bridal party shots are some of the best of the day for me. I love to be creative, using the scenery and light to make beautiful portraits for everyone involved.
With the package they had bought we were there until the end which meant a sparkler exit. These can be great fun and get everyone involved for the bride and groom leaving. We got some great shots of this.
After all our weddings we love to have our couples in for what we call a reveal session. This is where they see their images for the first time, as well as designing their album. We love seeing our work in print and encourage our couples to make the best of having their images printed.
