The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
Although I had a portfolio built up with years of beautiful wedding hair and makeup, I wanted to create something completely different, something that was missing. And that’s what inspired me to organise an Asian bridal hair and makeup photo shoot.
Traditional Asian bridal hair and makeup is heavier, using a dramatic use of liner, strong contouring, and deep smoky eyes - one of my favourite styles of makeup! I wanted my portfolio to portray all styles of the makeup that I can do, and reach out to a wider audience of brides.
At the time I was working for Benefit Cosmetics, where one of my regular customers was lovely enough to allow me to raid her wardrobe of incredible saris and jewellery, to choose a look for my model.
I then reached out to other Whitewed suppliers where Wendy House Flowers donated an incredible bouquet of red roses covered in jewels, and Photography by Sally-Anne who captured the entire shoot with the most stunning images.
Next, I needed a venue. Grittleton House was the first country house wedding venue I attended, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I knew I had to return for this photo shoot. The rich red and gold tones in the sari matched the colour scheme of the house perfectly.
It was such a fun day, experimenting with heavier makeup on my beautiful model Jaz, who had the perfect olive skin-tone to pull off this look.
We captured images on the double staircase, the room typically used for wedding ceremonies, and the library, and they're all so beautifully striking.
Collaborating with other suppliers, whether it be a completely different sector of the industry, creates amazing results, relationships, and most of all exciting, new and fresh content for brides to see a more realistic picture of how everything comes together on the day.
If you like the look of this wedding and would like to know more, head over and check out the supplier.
