The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
Amy and her partner had a special request: they wanted to impress their guests with a vegan extravaganza on their big day. This is where my role came into play and I was able to use my expertise. They expressed their desire for three, distinct self-service, seated buffets, and I took the initiative to craft sample menus for them.
These menus featured a delightful array of options, beginning with a welcoming spread of fruit and pastries, followed by a Middle Eastern-style lunch. When I presented these menus to the couple, they were absolutely thrilled and immediately scheduled a tasting session with us.
Recognising their busy lives as parents to two small children, on top of planning their wedding, I decided to make things even easier for them. I meticulously prepared the sample dishes and delivered them to their home. Their warm welcome and genuine enjoyment of the dishes I had prepared sealed the deal. From that moment on, they enthusiastically chose me as their vegan wedding caterer.
Following months of administrative tasks and weeks dedicated to food preparation, the momentous day had finally arrived. I assembled my team and together, we made our way to the charming Doynton Village Hall. Upon our arrival, we found the groom and other family members and friends engrossed in the hall's setup. The chosen theme was a delightful fusion of the 70s and sunflowers, a striking combination that exuded a warm, golden ambiance - a perfect reflection of the blossoming spring season.
Without delay, my team and I began the task of arranging the welcome fruit and pastry table. As the guests started to arrive, their astonishment was palpable as they laid eyes on the table. We were showered with numerous compliments on the impeccable presentation, basking in the appreciation of our efforts.
The ceremony unfolded with sheer beauty, graced by the fortuitous presence of the sun. The joyful couple had the privilege of an outdoor garden ceremony at the village hall, where the sun's warmth and radiance bathed the event in a golden glow. It was a heartwarming moment to witness, filled with happiness and love.
While the ceremony proceeded, my team and I efficiently cleared the welcoming table and readied ourselves to serve lunch. The lunch menu was a captivating Middle-Eastern-inspired array, featuring a tantalising selection of ten distinct dishes for guests to savour. Each dish was artfully presented to harmonise with the wedding's theme, adorned with sunflowers and served on rustic crockery, creating a visually appealing and vibrant display of plant-based goodness.
