The Lydiard House is a stunning historic house set in 260 acres of parkland on the western edge of Swindon.

The beautiful, Georgian stately home has medieval origins and was remodelled in the 17th century and the 1740s to include a grand entrance and lots of details inspired by classical architecture. These include the elaborate pediment on the front of the house, the corner towers and the detail seen around the windows on the ground floor.

The Lydiard House offers the perfect location for weddings and civil ceremonies. The venue is also a unique location for conferences, private dinners, naming ceremonies, and parties.

The Lydiard House provides a high level of client service and assistance to ensure the smooth-running of your special day from start to finish. Our wedding packages are flexible, and we are very happy to meet with you to discuss your requirements in greater detail and show you around the venue.

We have two ceremony room options: Bolingbroke Suite and Lydiard House Main Hall. The Bolingbroke Suite can accommodate up to 60 guests, and the Main Hall has a slightly smaller capacity of 40 guests – perfect for an intimate ceremony. Wedding receptions take place within our Luxborough Suite, which has a maximum capacity of 100 guests.

Included in the price of your package are two guest bedrooms and a bridal suite. An additional 34 en-suite bedrooms are available for guests to book. We are delighted to offer bespoke menus and drinks packages. From delectable formal dinners to a selection of buffet menus, our wide choice is sure to delight everyone. All of our menus are based on fresh local produce and top quality ingredients handpicked by our head chef.

If you and your partner have a love of stately homes and country parks, or you are simply looking for a wedding venue with a difference, contact our Events Team to secure your special date.

"I am writing to say thank you to you and to all of your colleagues at Lydiard Park for helping to make our Symposium Weekend such a relaxed and joyful one. I know that everyone was made to feel welcome, all of the arrangements went like clockwork, and those who stayed overnight found the accommodation warm and comfortable, and appreciated the hearty breakfast that followed."
