The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
Here at Whitewed, I work with engaged couples, wedding venues and suppliers alike, and 13 years in the industry and many thousands of contacts means I have a true and realistic view into how both sides of the industry react, perform, cope, and what their processes, challenges and wins are.
One thing that I see all the time among business owners is the little niggle of fear that has a tendency to creep in at the most unexpected time and and make our confidence disappear - but we have to learn to drown out the fears and amplify our passion, as after all, the passion is why you're here with your business in the first place!
I think this is especially relevant right now as we’ve been out of our usual day to day services for the last 4 months, and with times still being uncertain, it’s easy to let the fear overcome your passion and confidence. Are you still good enough? Have you still got it? Will you be able to ride the storm and make it to the 'other side'?
Last month, I had my first face-to-face meeting with a potential new wedding planning client and I was nervous – it was the first in-person meeting I've had in 4 months and it was really important to me that I got this client, for many reasons, firstly, like all of us, I need new business but secondly and most importantly, I needed it for me. I needed to show myself that I could do it.
The great thing was that I not only got the client, but I nailed it – I was totally confident, I absolutely loved talking all things weddings again and sharing my advice and tips and I felt so passionate about my work and my role in their wedding day - the fear just melted away.
We’ve got to take confidence in our passion, as our fears can be paralysing. They can stop us from making progress for a whole day, a week...longer even.
Fears shout out to us on loudspeaker, while our inner passion burns away quietly in the background.
How can we silence our fears and amplify our passion?
See if you can turn up the volume on your passion!
I’ll leave you with this quote that I love...and I have to remind myself of too sometimes!:
‘Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.”
Kindest,
