The ultimate resource for creating your perfect wedding...
The hot topic for May has to be the Royal Wedding. On 19th May Harry and Meghan will be tying the knot and we can't wait for all the details to finally be revealed. We're not the only ones speculating what will happen! Some of our lovely suppliers have their predictions. From the cake, flowers and dress through to the guest hats and Meghans earrings, we've deliberated the lot!
Here are some predictions from our professionals...
Elizabeth Donovan Photography
Elizabeth says "I think Meghan's dress will be beautifully simple, something that shows off her figure and not fussy. This will be matched with pearl accessories, a soft smoky eye, barley there lip colour and a soft chignon in her hair. The bridesmaids will wear soft pastel dresses with some gold detailing. The gold theme (baroque look), will continue through the day on the cake, invitations and table decorations. The guests will be suitably stylish too with bold hats and chic dresses. I hope you enjoy my royal moodboard...
Louise from Wendy House Flowers says
"Make up will be natural lips, rose gold and impact eyes with hair in a low roll/chignon or loose sweep and waves. The bouquet will be a loose semi waterfall oversized style with peonies, white roses, fragrant accents of LOV/freesia and completed with a sprig of myrtle.
The dress will be heavy satin, elegant and classic in the front & all the drama in the back. Either slash neck or bardot style top in a fit n flare/ A-line style. Not strapless but possibly only partial coverage of arms. If Meghan has sleeves she'll opt for a low back. The dress will be completed with a simple cathedral length veil with unusual detail on the bottom.

Let's also consider Harry! Roger from Wiltshire Toastmaster says "The general consensus by the experts is that Harry will wear Morning Dress. I predict he will wear a Captain's dress uniform of the Blues and Royals, as previous. This is a fairytale wedding with a massive global audience, Harry is immensely proud of his military connection and I don't think he will miss this opportunity to showcase it. He will be advised on Morning Dress but being a bit of a rebel will go down the uniform route. I could be wrong, but we'll see!"
Harmony Brides
We feel that Meghan will respect royal protocol and have her arms covered in some way, although we feel that she may be brave/allowed to show her collar bones. Therefore hopefully not as ‘covered’ as the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate). The skirt will be plain in fabric, but perhaps more detailed on the bodice. We think Meghan may wear a slightly slimmer shaped skirt than that wore by royals before her, gaining the grandeur by that of a long bridal train (perhaps detachable?).
Back detail will be a key feature, all be it modest, perhaps along the lines of an illusion back as per our images. That's what we think, but what we would LOVE to see Meghan wearing is...
Slim line silhouette – as per the image (obviously not as low on the neckline!) from the rumoured gown designer Ralph & Russo who designed & make Meghan’s engagement dress. Soft fabric that flows, graceful & feminine. Delicate floral hand beaded fabric as illustrated. A detachable train to add impact to the ceremony & walking down the aisle – ease of wear when detached later in the day.
So there you have it. But what do you think?
