Blimey, it's been a rollercoaster this afternoon.
Today, the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announced that weddings in England from Monday 28th September would be for 15 people only. For those of you that have been affected, I'm sending a virtual hug. Whilst we knew in our heart of hearts that news of this nature was coming, it's hard to stomach and process when it does - especially if your plans are affected across the next 6 months.
There are two positives we can take from this - firstly that we can now plan, or certainly more than before. Whilst it's not the news we wanted to hear, we know that weddings of 15 will be the 'thing' for the next 6 months; it's also a relief that weddings can still happen, as receptions could easily have been pulled altogether.
If this has affected you, I urge you to breathe, take a moment and be kind to yourself. Consider all of your options, weigh them up and make the decision that feels right for you and your partner and your nearest and dearest. When you've made your decision, approach your venue and suppliers with the same kindness and consideration and give them time to get their ducks in a row and strategy in place, as their diary and way forward will need revisiting too.
Here at Whitewed, we've got your back. We're with you as we've always been, and our troop of
#whitewedapproved venues and suppliers will do their very best by you, so bear with them whilst they get their head around the news too and come back to you.
If nothing else, the news is clear, and we must all keep to the rules, not get complacent and overall look after ourselves and others to help towards weddings opening up again after March next year.
Whilst it feels overwhelming just now, know that this is temporary - we will get through it, and the celebration at the end of it will be sooooo worth the wait!
Sending love, Team Whitewed x
