2: Elsa Rose Boutique - bespoke hair accessories, button bouquets, buttonholes and DIY workshops!

From the Professionals: 6 Best Additions for your Wedding

Photographer credit: Memoirs en Or

Introduce yourself – tell us about you and your business:

My name’s Sarah and I’m an accessory designer and the owner of Elsa Rose Boutique, which I started in 2013 after my own wedding. We struggled to find things for our wedding that stayed true to who we were, that were unique but not quirky - I’ve made it my mission since to make sure that you don’t have to settle, by designing accessories that you love, with details that complement your dress, favourite colours and incorporate personal touches that make them that little bit more special.

Tell me about your service that should be considered:

I work with brides to create hair accessories, and also design brooch bouquets, buttonholes and run workshops for brides who would like to make their own accessory. Each accessory is made to order, so you can choose which beads and crystals you’d like to include, along with the option to add sentimental touches of your own, such as an old brooch from your mum or the pearls from your grandma’s necklace, combining your something old with your something new. I can incorporate details from your dress and transform them beyond your hair piece to a necklace or a bridal belt too.

What are the benefits of your service, how can you enhance my wedding day?:

It starts with a conversation about what you like and dislike, things that are important to you, how you got engaged, your dress and plans for the wedding and any ideas you have that we can use as a starting point. I realised through talking to many of you that there isn’t much information about the practical elements of hair accessories, such as how to keep them in place and what works best in different hair types, so when we work together, we look at all those details to find your perfect fit. It’s a journey that you’re involved in from beginning to end!

What’s your price range?:

As each piece is unique, pricing depends on the details you’d like to include but as a guide, my accessories range between £50 and £300.

Workshops range from £40 to £300, depending on the accessory made, and last around 3 hours. Brooch bouquet workshops usually take 3 longer sessions over a few days, which can be spread out as it suits you.

3: Burnt Orange - the home of the 'go big or go home' floral LOVE letters and statement pieces!

From the Professionals: 6 Best Additions for your Wedding

Photographer credit: Matt Fox Photography

Introduce yourself – tell us about you and your business:

I’m Alex and I own Burnt Orange. I design and make statement pieces for couples to hire and give their wedding the wow factor. I started out four years ago with a set of light up LOVE letters and I’ve expanded the range to include two sets of floral love letters, another set of light up love letters and a brand new Octagon frame which is adorned with giant roses.

Tell me about your service that should be considered:

How about a 20ft long floral love sign?! These were deigned to be the new kids on the block when it comes to love letters and they truly are one of a kind. Traditionally, the love letters seen at weddings are saved for the dance floor, and they are still hugely popular, but if you want to start that statement from the get go, you can do that with my floral love letters. They can be set up outside, on a lawn, a patio, or in a large function room to really add that wow factor. They are a great backdrop for your group photos, brilliant for guests to have selfies in front of, and add a huge floral touch to any area they are positioned.

What are the benefits of your service, how can you enhance my wedding day?:

I can add a huge floral touch to your wedding without the huge price tag.

Couples want their wedding to be different, and I designed the new range of love letters to be just that. “I’ve never seen anything like them” is a comment I hear often.

Love letters have been popular at weddings for years but mine are different. For starters I’ve designed mine to be script style, as if someone had handwritten the word love. They are soft and romantic. I wanted love letters to not just be for the dance floor so I’ve filled mine with silk flowers to take pride of place throughout the day and really make a statement. After all, your wedding day is all about love right so why not set the scene from the off? Microlights can be added so they still shine bright when the sun goes down.

What’s your price range?:

My prices range from £195 to £295. The 'Flora' love letters are £295 to hire which includes delivery, set up and collection (price may vary depending on location).

4: Capriccio Quartet - setting the ambiance beautifully!

From the Professionals: 6 Best Additions for your Wedding

Photographer credit: Alice Marple Horvat

Introduce yourself – tell us about you and your business:

Formed in 2001, we are four professional and very experienced musicians offering music of the highest quality for your wedding ceremony and drinks reception. We pride ourselves in the excellent standard of our performance and each player in our group is trained to the highest level and has worked with some of the top orchestras in the UK. Our biographies may be found on our website, together with details of the venues where we have played, at which many have appointed us as preferred suppliers. We won Regional Finalist at the Wedding Industry Awards for the West Midlands in 2020 and have received many glowing testimonials for our work by past clients.

Tell me about your service that should be considered:

We provide a fully bespoke programme of music for your special day, tailored to your tastes and preferences. We have a Repertoire List on our website which you can download and print to help you decide what music you would like at key points of your ceremony and afterwards during your reception. Our first point of contact is our first violin and leader, Lynette Webster, who answers enquiries and she will advise you on your musical choice before you make a booking with us. If our Repertoire List doesn’t have the music you want, we can usually source it or have it arranged. We are based in Worcestershire but cover the Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and the Cotswolds areas as well.

What are the benefits of your service, how can you enhance my wedding day?:

A string quartet will set the mood for your wedding, from the moment your guests arrive, providing just the right atmosphere as they take their places for your ceremony. The music for the bridal entrance can be timed and faded as required as can the music for the signing of the register and the recessional. We can move very quickly from one area of the venue to another and we are happy to perform outdoors if the weather is favourable, though we will require some shelter to protect our valuable instruments from spots of rain and strong sun.

What’s your price range?:

We have frozen our Price List for 2020/21 and we think that our fees offer excellent value for money, given the high standard of our performance and the breadth of our experience. Our prices start from £420 for one hour’s playing, although typically most couples book us for a two hour period at £480, allowing time for music before, during the ceremony itself and the drinks reception afterwards.

(Please note that we do not charge for setting up time in our fees and we aim to arrive 30 minutes before the time we are booked). We usually include travel expenses in our fees, but we may need to charge an extra fee for fuel if the venue is further away.

Based in Gloucestershire I also travel to weddings across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, The Midlands and even internationally having performed in both Spain and Italy. Tell me about your service that should be considered:

I offer walkaround interactive entertainment for one of two periods during a wedding day…

Either:

  • your drinks reception (usually 1.5 hours) ...or
  • early in the evening, after your wedding breakfast (usually 2 hours)

What are the benefits of your service, how can you enhance my wedding day?:

Wedding days can be long with quite a bit of hanging around, especially if you are not involved with the Wedding Party itself. The Bride and Groom, Bridesmaids and immediate family will be busy having photographs, but ‘normal’ guests are often just standing and waiting for the next stage of the day. My light entertainment will bring your guests together, relieve any boredom and create magical amazing moments for your photographer to capture. In the current Coronavirus climate, I have been adapting my tricks for when I return to events if the social distancing rules are still in effect - all of the tricks are visual and can be hands-free to ensure your safety and my safety.

What’s your price range?:

Prices vary slightly depending on the location, travel and service being delivered. I am happy to provide a free no-obligation quote on request, simply send me an enquiry form from my directory page.
