A non-guidey guide from a soon to be bride Part one - Evie's Story

Firstly I would like to introduce myself, my name is Evie and I am The Whitewed Directory’s new real-life bride!

Myself and my fiancé Kieron are getting married in August 2019 at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park in South Cerney, and excited would be a complete understatement! We were going to wait till 2020 but we just couldn’t wait another year to become Mr & Mrs!

We got engaged on December 25^th 2017 in front of the Christmas tree and our gorgeous golden retriever Kea. As I am writing this during the Christmas season, this brings back some extremely fond memories of last Christmas and our newly engaged bubble.

As far as being organised I would say I am doing really well. Everything that you need to secure a date for has pretty much been booked…well the necessities anyway! who’s to say I wont book that light up dance floor at a later stage...

I have my checklist written, budgets mapped out and formulas on my spreadsheets to note down when I spend any money on the wedding - which at the moment is a spreadsheet I open fairly often!! I have found the easiest way of planning the wedding so far is to use a spreadsheet and write everything you possibly can down (even if you don’t think you will need it, it just gets it all out of your head, so you don’t have to remember it for a later time).

Another great planning tip is to do with the Hen Do. Ask one of your trusted Bridesmaids or Maid of Honour to plan the event and not tell you anything to do with it! It’s definitely the better way, it’s so exciting and leaves the complete element of surprise ready for the celebration with your girls.
